Keeping you abreast of events on our Europe trip (25 Jul - 31 Aug)

Greetings from Mykonos, Greece

Yip - it looks like a weekly update is all you're gonna get!!

So what have we been up to since I last updated you? Where did we get up to?....

Ah yes... we were heading to Tina's in sunny Scunthorpe. Thanks to my lovely big brother, we did it in style in his sporty Audi A4 (thanks Bro!)

It was lovely to catch up with her and marvel at how big Luke is getting. Of course, the down side of that is that we're all getting old!!

We had a surprise visit from the lovely Carla, and Tina's mum and dad popped over later. It was very nice to see everyone - though, as has been the case a few times now... it was all over too quickly.

In the morning, it was back to Stoke (to return the car) then we got the train down to London. From there we headed into town and caught up with Elaine, Paul and Stephen. We also got to meet Drew (Paul's other half) and caught up with Joel on his first night in London. He's in the UK for a couple of weeks - and will join us in Manchester for Mardi Gras at the end of the month.

It was lovely to see everyone, but by the time we got back to our hotel (in Feltham!!!!!!!) it was after midnight and we had to be up a stupid o'clock to get to the airport.

Then it was time to head to Greece - something we'd been looking forward to, as proper relaxation time. Visiting everyone is lovely and a lot of fun - but it's also very tiring.

We spent 3 days in Athens in the end. We'd only planned to be there for 2 days - but our Hotel (Melia) was really nice - esp. the roof top pool and bar. So we extended by another day. Did the sightseeing bus a couple of times, which was good, then went back to the newly opened Acopolis Museum, which was worth seeing.

Then we headed to Mykonos by ferry, where we're spending four nights (might need to remortgage the house when we get back tho, as it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive here!)

Last night (first night) we headed into town and met two "new best friends" from Chicago. We stayed with them all night and partied hard - eventually staggering home at 04:30am (with the obligatory kebab, of course!).

Needless to say, today has therefore been a bit of a write-off. We did manage to go and get some mopeds, and we've been out exploring 3 times. But I could only face one beer (and Jay didn't have any!) with tonight's meal (which was the second worst meal we've had... I guess it can't always be good).

Tomorrow it's likely we'll fire up the scooters and go exploring again. And I'd like to get some time just sitting by the pool doing Fanny Adams.

Rigtht - that's you up to date.

From here we have 2 more nights in Mykonos, 1 in Athens, then back to London for a night, before flying to Manchester for Mardi Gras.

More updates to follow (in about a week, I guess!)

Oh - and if you haven't already looked... there are a load of new pics on Flickr - none of Greece yet - they take AGES to upload as the files are so big. I'll try to get some of them up soon.

Hope this update finds you all safe, well and happy.

G & J xXx
